Lemonade Joe

The life and times of...

Who?

Lemonade JoeLemonade Joe is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who writes and records expansive, sunny indie-pop tunes in a small, dark studio in Cambridge. He has released dozens of tracks on the interweb since 2004. Some of these are available as free downloads on this site, or via the Lemonade Joe Podcast. The debut Lemonade Joe album is now in the works - an annoying degree of perfectionism has meant dozens of tracks being scrapped in search of ever greater Rickenbacker infused magic. However, the word is that, with production chops now up to scratch, the first release should be with us 'some time in 2007'. In the meantime, keep an eye out for EPs and further demos.

A short history

Following a stint as lead guitarist in the legendary Pink Mushrooms, Lemonade Joe deserted his home patch of Presteigne and headed for the bright lights of Manchester. This was not long after the whole 'Madchester' thing, and the grim city was the place to go to make a go of it; the place where LJ's talent could truly shine. Experimentation with life intervened, however, and 3 years passed during which much music was listened to in a variety of mental states, but little was captured beyond some occasional 4-track noodling. A handful of songs were written though, some in collaboration with Syd Sidhu, doyen of the Osterley scene. These songs survive today, still forming part of the Lemonade Joe repetoire ('Wake Up', 'Never Felt The Same', and others).
